Marty Donkervoort, General Manager

Marty's background in government, private enterprise, and the non-profit sector has provided him with the ability to work with and understand each sector. This experience along with his commitment to socially responsible business and governance brings to COS a level of leadership that enables the organization to achieve its mandate.

Marty has over two decades of experience in community economic development. He was a founding member of the Worker Ownership Development Foundation and Co-op Work, a worker co-operative management consulting enterprise. In the mid 80's he developed the concept and business plan for A-Way Express, a courier business employing ex-psychiatric patients in Toronto. A business that still flourishes today 20 years later. More recently, for two years ending December 2001, he was the Director of Business Development at the North End Community Renewal Corporation in Winnipeg.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the North End Housing Project, Social Planning Council, Canadian Worker Co-op Federation and Inner City Renovations Inc. Born in Rotterdam, his education includes a B.Sc. in Forestry (Timber Engineering), and an MBA with specialty in marketing. Samples of his work experience include publishing the magazine Worker Co-ops, the Voice of Economic Democracy in Canada, owning a management consulting business, and being a senior policy advisor to the Ontario Minister of Natural Resources and the Environment.

Kaye Grant, Project Manager

Kaye Grant, B.Ed, MBA is a business consultant who has designed, conducted and analyzed research studies for a variety of clients, including new and established businesses, cooperatives and non-profit organizations.

Experienced in market research and analysis, marketing strategy development, management, financial forecasting and planning for small business.

Kaye has consulted on various projects ranging from feasibility studies, program evaluations, needs assessment, market studies and business plan development. Kaye is also a new business developer and trainer and has designed and delivered training curriculum.

At Community Ownership Solutions, Kaye is responsible for planning, implementing and managing projects in the areas of marketing, feasibility, enterprise development and transformation as well as providing support services for enterprises launched by COS.
